Mr. Baldwin Schley 85, of 821 Towne Street husband of Sharan Harrison- Schley entered into eternal rest on October 30. 2020 at Self Regional Medical Center. Baldwin was born to the late Booker Biggins and Minnie Mitchenor Schley on August 13, 1935 in Plains, Georgia.
He was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church in Plains, Georgia a graduate of Plains High School and attended Old Mt Zion Baptist Church in the Epworth Community. Baldwin was a United States Army Veteran having served in Nellingen, Germany. He was employed by New York City Transit, Trailways Bus Lines and retired after 35 years of combined service with Greyhound Bus Lines in 2005
He was pre-deceased by his parents by his sister, Ms Clara Belle Schley, son Sylvester Schley and granddaughter, Yolanda Fletcher.
This kind gentle man is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sharan Harrison-Schley of the home; six daughters, LaDaisy Schley-Ware of Jacksonville, FL, Gwen (Joyce) Merritt and LaVerne (Bryant) Morrison both of New York, Valerie Schley of Jacksonville, Fl, Angela (Gene) Brown of Madison AL and Monica (US Navy Retired Chief Petty Officer Shannon Daniels) of Navarre, FL; 13 grandchildren one reared in the home, Tashiana S. Daniels of Florida; 11 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; a niece, Valerie Galloway of Brooklyn, NY; nephews, Schley and Kent Franklin of New York and Brian (Karyl) Franklin of Mexico and New York. One who has been a faithful brother MacArthur(Shirley) Polk of Americus, GA and a host of other family members and friends who celebrate that he is at peace with the Creator.
Funeral services are private and will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Old Mt Zion Baptist Church. Mr. Schley will be placed in the church at 10:00 am.
