Lillie Mae Pressley


Mrs. Lillie Mae Pressley, 92, of 717 Brickyard Road, Ninety-Six, SC widow of Willie Pressley entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 19,2020 at Abbeville Nursing Home, Abbeville, SC. She was born January 19, 1927 to the late Addie K Goode and James Calhoun, Sr.

She was a faithful member of Pleasant Rock Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School Teacher, member of the Pastor's Aide Committee, Beatification Committee, Kitchen Committee, Missionary Society, Senior Choir and was Co-Founder of the Mother's Day Program.

She was bestowed the honor of God-Mother of the Church and The "Peppermint Lady". Mrs. Pressley and her desire to serve led her to Pine Pleasant Baptist Church where she served on the Missionary Society and was a member of the Senior Choir.

She was a member of several associations to include Women's Aide Society #12, The Usher Board Association, Women's Auxiliary Choir, 100 Ladies in White, South Carolina Educational Choir and member of the "96" Senior Center.

She was preceded in death by her brother Willie James King and nephew James Clyde King.

She leaves to mourn her memory her cousin and caregiver, Earlene E. King of Greenwood, SC; several nieces, nephews cousins, and friends.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Pleasant Rock Baptist Church Ninety-Six, SC. Public viewing will be from 2-6pm Wednesday at the funeral home and at the graveside prior to the service.

The family ask that social distancing be adhered to when visiting the family at the home of a cousin, Earlene King 335 Pinehurst Drive, Greenwood.
