George W. Nobles, Jr., 58, of 804 Sweetwater Road, was called home to the Lord on May 8, 2020 at Self Regional Medical Center after a prolonged Medical battle.
Born May 15, 1961, in Greenwood, SC, he was the son of the late George W. Nobles, Sr. and Martha Erving. He graduated from Asbury Park High School in 1980. He attended Jersey City State College where he studied criminal justice, played for the JC State basketball and football team, participated in several NIT tournaments and pledged Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc in the Spring of 1983.
George had a career as a chef, working in the former Trump Castle/Marina casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Assistant Director of the Greenwood Recreation Center and later various local restaurants in Greenwood, SC.
George loved sports, with the New York Giants and New York Knick's as his favorite teams. George loved music (mainly Rap and Jazz), but also enjoyed movies like Star Wars, comic books, traveling, and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his son, Omar White-Nobles (with the love of his life Sharon) of Atlantic City, NJ; mother, Martha Irving of the home; brothers Willie and Lance (Andrea) of Greenwood; nieces DeAndra Moss and ShirAziah Nobles of the home; niece Toyisha Rush of Greenwood, SC; nephew Shamar Nobles of Asbury Park, NJ; and a host of aunts, uncles, step-siblings and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father George W. Nobles, Sr., and his beloved sister Carolyn Denise Nobles.
