Jailyn Morton

Jailyn  DuMari Morton 24, of 3517 Ridge Road, Hodges entered into his heavenly home  on Sunday, February 9, 2020. He was born in Greenwood county March  26, 1995 a son of Katrina Smith and Jonathan Morton, Sr.

He was an honorary graduate of Greenwood High School Class of 2013. He spread his love through cooking and was such a sweet, kind and caring person. He would light up the room with his warm smile and amazing personality. There wasn't such a thing as Jailyn meeting a stranger because he loved and cared for everyone he met.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James C. Smith and Lillie Belle Morton,  his uncle, Johnny Anderson, Jr. and his aunt, Diane Morton.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother Katrina Smith of Hodges,  his father Jonathan Morton, Sr. of Greenwood, SC; his grandmother, Carrie Smith of the home, three brothers, Travis Quarles of Greenville, SC, Jonathan Morton, Jr. and Jhilek Morton of Greenwood, SC; three sisters, Jazalyn Morton of Hodges, SC Jalece Morton and Ariel Morton of Greenwood,SC; four uncles, Calvin Smith, Michael Smith, Stephan Morton and Carols Morton;  two aunts, Fredricka Briggs of Hodges, SC and Chantelle McBride Smith of Greenwood, SC; eight great aunts, Rosa Lee Anderson, Betty Anderson and  Mamie Garret of Hodges, SC ,  Louise Foster, Alberta Lee, Willie Mae Norman, Odell Brown and Janie Lee Webb of Greenwood, SC, Amanda Wardlaw of Atlanta, GA ; one great uncle, Landon Lee of Greenwood and a host of special cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Percival Tompkins Chapel with Rev. Michael A. Butler officiating.

Burial will be in Oakbrook Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Uncles.

Flower bearers will be 1st Cousins.
