Charlie Mae Higgins

Mrs.  Charlie Mae Higgins 84, of 124 Sumpter Ct. wife of George Smith Higgins died on July 31, 2019 at Magnolia Manor. Born in Greenwood County  December 25, 1934, she was the daughter of Rosella Payne. She was a member of Second Damascus Baptist Church where she was a former member of the Gospel Choir and the Willing Workers Club She retired from Magnolia Manor after many years of service

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Shirley Nance, Sennie Thomas, Wilhelmenia Brown and Rosa Lee Marshall and three brothers, Julian Ernest Payne,  Jimmy Lee Payne and Cleveland Payne

Surviving is her husband,  George S. Higgins of the home;  two nieces raised in the home , Towana and Satrina Thomas;  six great  nieces;  one brother, John R. Payne and three sisters Joann Freeman, Brenda Payne, and Ellen Quarles.  a special cousin Julia (Curtis) Carter and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held  12 noon Monday, July 5, 2019  at Second Damascus Baptist Church with the Reverend Leroy Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Mrs. Higgins  body will placed in the church at 11 am. Pallbearers will be nephews and Flower bearers will be nieces.
