Rev. Prince Leroy Church Sr.

Rev. Prince Leroy Church, Sr. age 84 of Bradley, SC went home to be with the Lord on June 16, 2019 at his home following a lengthy illness.

Rev. Prince Leroy was the first born to the late William " Jack" Church and Carrie Hellen Giddens Church. He attended Exmore Public School System and later graduated from North Hampton County High School.

At a young age he met and married Belma Artis-Church , and was blessed with two beautiful children, Leroy Church, Jr. and Velvery Church-Shapiro.

Rev. Prince Leroy later met and married Francis Lites-Church and from this union he had a step son Larry Robinson.

They were regular members of Mt. Zion AME Church under the tutelage of Rev. James Louden III.

Rev. Prince Leroy had a big warm heart and a smile to match. His pride and joy were his children and grandchildren that he loved talking about. However, throughout all of his accomplishments the most important was accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and maintained that fellowship throughout his life, being ordained Rev. Leroy Church Sr. in 1978, and was appointed Prince Leroy Church in July of 1997 at Triump, The Church of the New Age in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Rev. Prince Leroy was a very hard worker and he worked various jobs, and ultimately became the Head Supervisor at Lonsdown Public Works Department retiring after 34 years of service with a stellar record of perfect attendance.

His hobbies included playing checkers, collecting coins and stamps.

Rev. Prince Leroy also had a love for people and would help anyone in need.

He was also attained the 32nd Degree of the Masonic Order.

Rev. Prince Leroy was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Anna Bannister and Elizabeth Jarvis; two brothers, William Church, Wilbert Church and one great grandchild Alysha Phillips.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Francis Lites- Church , his children, Leroy Church, Jr. Velvery Church-Shapiro( Charles) , a step son, Larry Robinson; a brother, John Church Sr. (Marie); a sister, Phyllis Robinson( Kenneth); his best friend, Keith Hackett and Rev. Mike (Tonya) Smith whom he considered like a son; 9 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, 2 brothers, In Law, David Lights, Jr. and William lights; a sister in law, Mary Lou Fultz ; 2 god daughters that he also cherished, Ida Mae Williams and Geniva Meade (Jewitt); and a host of nieces , nephews other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life services will be held 1PM Monday, June 24, 2019 at Mt Zion AME Church in the Promiseland Community with Rev James Louden III officiating.

Pallbearers and Flower bearers will be friends and family.

Public viewing will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm only on Monday at Mt Zion AME Church 122 New Zion Road, Bradley, SC 29819
