Evelyn Goggins

Mrs. Evelyn Goggins 87 formerly of 60 Oak Circle Clinton, SC widow of Jonnie B.  Goggins entered into eternal rest on May 12, 2019. She was born in Laurens County January 23,1932 a daughter of the late James Haskell Payne and Daisy Richard Hearst. She was educated in Laurens County Public Schools.

She was a lifetime member of St Vaughnville Baptist Church Chappells, SC  where she was active in the Sunday School  and served in several ministries including the Missionary Society and Kitchen Ministry.

She was a member of the Women's Home Aid Society #49.

Evelyn moved to Buffalo New York and resided there for over 40 Years.  While there she attended Mt Olive Baptist Church and was a licensed cosmetologist with Yvonne's Beauty Boutique.

She was preceded in death by a son Pastor Clyde Blakely, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Willie Blakely (Georgia) of the home, and Pastor Douglas (LaVerne ) Blakely of Buffalo, New York;  one sister,  Betty Ann Payne - Sanders of Baltimore, Md;  eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday,  May 18, 2019 at Vaughnville Baptist Church with her son, Pastor Douglas Blakely rendering the eulogy and Pastor Ray Pilgrim presiding.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Goggins will be placed in the church at  Noon

Pallbearers will be Grandsons and family.

Flower bearers will be granddaughters.

Honorary escort will be Women's Home Aid Society #49

Public viewing will be from 1-8pm Friday  at Percival Tompkins FH.
