Mary Alice Rice

Mrs. Mary Alice Rice 74, of 504 Sumter Street wife of Larry Rice, Sr. entered into eternal rest on April 18, 2019 at Self Regional Medical Center. She was born in Newberry, SC January  9, 1945 a daughter of the late Hayward P. Means and Irene Butler Means.

She was a lifelong member of Belmont Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a member of the Usher Board, Missionary Society and Deaconess. She was  a member of the Women's Home Aid Society # 45.

She was a graduate of Riverside High School Class of 1963 in Saluda, SC. She did further studies at Brewer Hospital School of Nursing where she obtained her Degree in Nursing.

She leaves to cherish her  memory her beloved  husband Larry Rice, Sr. of the home, one son, Larry Rice, Jr. and wife Letitia Rice of Greenwood; a brother, Odelle Means  and wife Linda H. Means of Columbia, SC; a sister, Arthree M. Dixon and husband Rev. George Dixon of Washington, DC; five grandchildren, Le'tario Rice , Aaliyah Rice, James Coleman, Latidra Coleman, Sendora Smith; one great-grandchild, Jayden Woods; a god daughter, Audrey Smith of Greenwood  and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Friday, April 26, 2019 at  Belmont Baptist Church, 301 Belmont Church Road, Silverstreet, SC 29145 with Rev. Wright Alston officiating.

Mrs. Rice will be placed in the church at 1pm

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers and Flower bearers will be friends and family.

The family is at the home of her son Larry Rice, Jr. 214 Willowbrook Subdivision.
