Mrs. Ollie Mae Fisher Mathis 85, wife of Paul Mathis died March 11, 2019 at her home. She was born in Greenwood County May 27, 1933 a daughter of the late John Henry Fisher Sr. and Mary Ellen Williams Fisher. She was a faithful member of Youngs Chapel Baptist Church where she served as member and former Secretary of the Senior Choir, the Missionary Society, the Usher Board, Women's Aide Society #310 and Former President of the Pastor's Aide Society .
She was formerly employed with Greenwood Mills and retired from Cooper Power Systems.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, three sisters and one granddaughter
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 56 years Paul A. Mathis of the home, four sons, Richard Chiles of the home , Robert Chiles of Greenwood, Dennis Chiles (Sally) of Laurel, Maryland, Everett Mathis of Dallas TX; four daughters, Sheila Mathis of the home , Marilynn Joyce Grier, Cynthia Denise Carroll ( Allen ), Vonda M. Coates( Anthony) all of Greenwood ; one brother, Robert O. Fisher (Lillie Mae) of Greenwood; two sisters, Lois Martin and Elizabeth Baylor both of Greenwood 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; special god children, James "June" Martin and Mary Peterson; a special caregiver, Diane Simpkins and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends
Services will be held 11:00 am Friday, March 15, 2019 at Young's Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Lashawn Goodwin officiating and Rev. Thessa Goodwin Smith Presiding
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Flower bearers will be nieces
Mrs. Mathis will be placed in the church at 10:00 am
