Edward Joe Lewis, Jr

Mr. Edward Joe Lewis, Jr. 68, of 682 Mill Road North husband of Mabel Mitchell Lewis entered into eternal rest on February 13, 2019 at Self Regional Medical Center. He was born in Greenwood County February 18, 1950 a son of the late Edward Joe Lewis, Sr. and Burlie Spearman Lewis. He joined of Little Zion AME Church at an early age, where served faithfully as a member of the Steward Board and was Superintendent of the Sunday School. He graduated in the Brewer High School Class of 1968 and was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from Eaton Cooperation.

He coached Little League Football and Baseball Teams. He loved Golf, spending time with family and watching them play sports.

He always looked forward to the family yearly trip in March to the mountains in Tennessee to celebrate the union of his parents,

the late Edward Joe and Burlie Lewis, Sr.

He was preceded in death by his parents , Edward Joe and Burlie Lewis, Sr. a sister, Donella L. Lancaster and a son Kevin D. Lewis Sr.

Surviving is his devoted wife of 45 years, Mable M Lewis of the home; two sons, Marvin D. (Tamara) Lewis of Lower Burrell, PA and Edward Joe (Dawn) Lewis III of Willingboro, NJ; a daughter-in-law, Kesha Lewis of Greenville, SC; four brothers, Melvin B. Lewis , Sr., Samuel E. ( Songa) Lewis , Fernanzer A. Lewis, Sr. of Greenwood, SC and Reginald O. Lewis, Sr. of Ware Shoals, SC; three sisters, Dorothy A. (John E) Reed, Caroline E. Chiles of Greenwood, SC and Janice F. (Leroy) Campbell of Ninety-Six, SC; six grandchildren , Jasmine G. Lewis, Isaiah A Lewis, Imani L. Lewis, Ja"Nia B. Lewis, Kevin D Lewis, Jr. and Jordin G. Lewis and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday, February 18, 2019 at Mt Zion AME Church in Promiseland with Rev. Beatrice Coleman officiating and Rev. George Oliver Presiding.

Pallbearers will be Mark Davis, Patrick Carr, Lamond Reed, Leroi A. Campbell, Melvin B. Lewis, Jr. and Tessel Deal.

Flower bearers will be Nieces.

Honorary escort will be Brewer Class of 1968.

Burial will be in Evening Star Cemetery.

Mr. Lewis will be placed in the church at 10:00 am.
