Sammie McBride


Sammie Eugene " Gene McBride 44 of 554 Hackett Avenue entered into eternal rest Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. He was born in Greenwood County August 1, 1974 a son of the late Sammie Lee "Bo" McBride and Henrietta Curry " Fatmama" McBride.

He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and educated in Greenwood Public Schools

He was preceded in death by a brother Calvin Vernard " Nard" Curry

Sammie leaves to cherish his memories : two sons, Vernard Eugene " Biggie" McBride of Greenwood and Eric Covington of Rock Hill, SC ; two daughters, Nyzia Davon ( Detravious )Ross and Ny'daydra Eunique "(his Yun Yun) McBride both of Greenwood; one brother, Nathaniel Curry of Mountainville, NC; two god sisters, Renata Nicole Puckett of Columbia, SC and Angela Lynn(Eric) Houston of Greenwood; four grandchildren, Brooklyn McBride, Kendall, Nyla &Khamryn Covington all of Greenwood; three nieces. Dedricka, Tiarra and Sharietta Andrews all of Greenwood; one nephew, Demarious Andrews of Greenwood; two aunts, Janice Smith and Mary Smith both of Greenwood; one great aunt, Mary Puckett of Greenwood and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 pm at Beulah Baptist Church with Bishop Emanuel Spearman officiating.

Burial will be in Evening Star Cemetery

Pallbearers and Flower bearers will be friends of the family

Mr. McBride will be placed in the church at 1PM

The family is at 214 Sloan Avenue and 119 S. Bethune Street, Greenwood
