Frances Syrkett Griffin


Mrs. Frances Alice Syrkett Griffin, widow of Mr. Willie Griffin, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 18th at Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Born in Ninety-Six, SC., she was a daughter of the late Mr. Will and Mrs. Ada Andrews Syrkett. She was a member of Thankful Baptist Church and retired from Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, PA

Surviving are three sisters; Mrs. Elease Bolden and Mrs. Bennie M. Holloway of Greenwood and Ms. Willie Mae Carter of Ninety-Six, S.C.; one brother Mr. Charles (Yvette Quiros) Syrkett of Lawrenceville, GA.; one brother-in-law, Mr. Clarence (Clementine) Griffin of Greenwood; two sisters in law, Mrs. Marian Martin Griffin of Greenwood and Ms. Eddie Mae Johnson of Promised Land and a host of other relatives, friends and her church family

Funeral services will be held 11AM, Saturday, December 30th at Old Mt Zion Baptist Church with the pastor , Rev. Dr. Danny R. Webb officiating and Rev. Carolyn B. Tolbert, Minister Sharon McGill and Rev. Katherina Richardson assisting. Burial will be in the church cemetery

Mrs Griffin's body willbe placed in the church at 10AM.

The family will receive friends at the home of her niece, Sharan Harrison-Schley(Baldwin) at 821 Towne Street, Greenwood.
