Mrs Claudia Boyd Johnson
Mrs. Claudia Marie Boyd Johnson, 61, of 137 Cunningham Circle, wife of Clyde Johnson, quietly passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Self Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Greenwood on September 7, 1956 to Sarah V. Boyd and the late Clyde Cunningham.
Claudia spent most of her life in Baltimore, MD where she received her education and graduated from the University of Baltimore with a BS Degree in Corporate Communications. She worked at Sinai Hospital as an Intake Specialist for several years and retired from Job Corps after 13 years of service as a Trainee Employee Assistant Program Specialist. She was a member of the Board of Professional Counselor & Therapist, State of Maryland Certified Counselors-Alcohol & Drugs and Phi Beta Kappa.
After relocating to Waterloo, Claudia united with the Laurel Hill Baptist Church where she attended faithfully and was a member of the Missionary Ministry and supervised the Youth Praise Team.
Claudia was predeceased by her father, a son, Brian, a sister, Sandra Brew and a special father figure, Richard Earl Woods who contributed largely to her upbringing.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories in addition to her husband of the home, her mother of Baltimore, MD; two sons, Lawrence and Marcus Johnson both of Baltimore, MD, a brother, Rodman Jones of Spartanburg, SC; a grandchild, Avant Johnson; two aunts, Jonelle Poole, Jeanette Ryles; three uncles, Joseph Ryles, Pete and Robert Woods and a host for other loving relatives and friends. Claudia had a special bond with Melody “Que” Sayre.
Funeral services will be held sunday, December 4, 2017 at 2PM with Pastor Herbert E Glenn officiating.. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers and Flower bearers will be friends and family
Honorary Escorts will be It's Praying Time and Praising My Savior Ministries.
Mrs Boyd will be placed in the church at 1:00 pm
