Mr George W. Ebo, Sr
George Warren Ebo, Sr. 71, of 2420 Cokesbury Rd Greenwood, SC 29649 husband of Lillie Bowie Ebo passed away on July 18, 2017 at Self Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born in Greenwood County, he was the son of the late Isreal Ebo Sr. and the late Carrie Marshall Ebo.
He graduated from Brewer High School in 1964. In 1970, he received his Bachelor of Science from South Carolina State College. He was a member of the South Carolina State University Greenwood Alumni Chapter.
He was an educator in Greenwood School District #50 for over 30 years.
At an early age he joined the Young Mount Zion Baptist Church in Chappells, SC. He later joined Morris Chapel Baptist Church and was presently a dedicated Trustee at Young’s Chapel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by two siblings, Isreal Ebo, Jr. and John Allen Ebo.
George leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 49 years and ten months, Lillie of the home. His beloved son, G. Warren Ebo, Jr also of the home. His beautiful BabyGirl, Zandria Ebo Ellis and her husband Patrick O’neal Ellis, Sr. of Henderson, NC. Two brothers, Clyde(Suzanne),and Leon Ebo of Greenwood, SC. Two sisters, Mrs. Yvonne Ebo(Kemp)Dargan of Suwanee, GA and Mrs. Barbara Ebo(Benjamin)Harrison of Cleveland, TN. Two brother-in-laws, Mr. James H. (Onnie)Bowie Sr. of Greenwood and Mr. William Bowie of Brooklyn, NY. Three loving grandchildren, Abriana Pajae' Ebo of Aiken SC, Patrick O’neal Ellis, Jr. and Zamari Tayevon Ellis of Henderson NC. And a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and special friends.
Homegoing services will be held Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 1pm at Young's Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. James Holmes officiating and Dr. Clara O. Barnes Presiding.
Burial will be in the Evening Star Cemetery.
Mr Ebo will be placed in church at Noon
Pallbearers will be Trustees and Friends of the family.
Flower bearers will be Nieces and friends of the family
Honorary escort will be Brewer High School Class of 1964 and members of the SC State Greenwood Alumni Chapter.
