Mr George Rufus "Rudy" McBride

George Rufus " Ruby" McBride 67, of 4022 McCormick Hwy entered into eternal rest on June 19, 2017 at Hospice Care of The Piedmont. He was born in Greenwood County a son of the late Ruthhart and Lottie McBride.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Jo McBride and Debra Faye Pickett.

He was a faithful member of Mt Zion AME Church and the Promise land Community, where he served on the culinary committee and was a groundskeeper. He worked at Greenwood Pool Company and AM Tuck for many years.

He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Chantelle McBride(Mike) and LaKeisha (Thomas ) Williams of Greenwood; two sisters, Belva C. McBride of Atlanta, GA and Eddie Mae(Waymon) Johnson of Promise land Community; five grandchildren, Kieara Smith, Ambria Smith, Tyree Smith, Destiny Collins and Kyle Collins ,Jr. of Greenwood; four aunts, Jesse Mae Hackett, and Lillie B. Connor of Promise Land, Mary Alice Hurst of Philadelphia, Pa and Guquata Booker of Fresno, CA; one uncle, Rev. David Connor, Jr. of Greenwood, SC and two nieces, Tia Saddler of Greenwood and Kayela (Terrance) Williams of Columbia, SC. He had a special placed in his heart for Jesse Mae Hackett, Martha Hunter, Henry S. Bowie, Willie J. Harris, Frank Lawson, Annie Evans and Ray Kelly; and a host of cousins and friends to celebrate his life.

Homegoing services will be held 1 PM Monday, June 26, 2017 at Mt Zion AME Church with Rev. James Louden III officiating and Rev. Derrick Scott Presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers and Flower bearers will be friends and family.

McBride will be placed in the church at Noon

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6-8 at Percival Tompkins Chapel.

The family is at the home of a daughter, Lakeisha Williams 408 Windmill Circle, Country Homes Subdivision.

Percival Tompkins Funeral Home is honored to serve the McBride family.
