Mrs Gladys Beatrice Witt

Mrs. Gladys Beatrice Witt 85, formerly of 117 N Ames Street, widow of Charles Lindbergh Witt died April 18, 2017 at the home of her daughter Belinda Regina Johnson of 366 Joe Louis Blvd, Greenwood, SC .

Born in Greenwood South Carolina a daughter Jamis Blocker and Tina Sullivan and was reared in the home of her cousin the late Seanie Hearst.

She was a lifelong member of Mt Pisgah Baptist Church where she served on the Senior Choir, the Missionary Society and was most recently named Mother of the Church.

She was retired from the Greenwood School District # 50 and Self Memorial Hospital and member of the Sunshine Community Club.

She was preceded in death by siblings, Georgia Mae Blocker, Lee Haven Blocker, Rosemary Aiken cousin, her daughter, Denise Fulton and granddaughter, Andresha J Witt

She leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Eddie Charles Witt of Compton, California, Ronald Witt of East Pointe, GA and Edwin Andre Witt of Greenwood; two daughters, Belinda Regina Johnson of the home and Tonya V. Jackson (Charlie) of Greenwood, SC ; one brother, James Blocker(Eula) of Philadelphia, PA; 10 grandchildren, three reared in the home, Terrance Romeko Witt, Coryondia Fulton and Mark Witt; 26 great grandchildren; two aunts, Georgianna Fortune and Ella Blocker both of Greenwood and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The homegoing celebration for Mother Gladys Witt will be held 2 PM Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Mt Pisgah Baptist Church with Pastor Otis Cunningham officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers and Flower bearers will be family and friends.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Belinda Regina Johnson 366 Joe Louis Blvd, Greenwood
