Mrs Rosa Marshall


Rosa Lee Payne Marshall, 69, of 501 E. Henrietta Avenue, wife of Clyde T. Marshall, died Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Magnolia Manor.

Born in Greenwood county April 25, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Clifton Collins and Rosetta Payne. Rosa was a graduate of Brewer High School, and retired from Capsugel.

She was a member of Second Damascus Baptist Church where she served as president of the Pastors Aide Club, assistant Sunday School teacher and a member of the gospel chorus.

Surviving in addition to her husband of the home and her son, Derrick Marshall of Greenwood are four sisters, Charlie Mae (George) Higgins, Ellen Quarles, JoAnn Freeman and Brenda Payne all of Greenwood, a brother, John Robert Payne of Greenwood, a special cousin, Julia (Curtis) Carter of Greenwood, two god-children, Ladeja S. Terry and Devon Thomas Freeman, a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Second Damascus Baptist Church with Reverend Leroy Robertson officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be the nephews, and flower bearers will be the nieces.

The body will be placed in the church at 12 noon.
