Mrs Lottie Louise Tolbert

GREENWOOD - Lottie Louise Tolbert, 97, of 306 Grove Street, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Hospice Care of the Piedmont.  She was born in Abbeville county on November 27, 1918 to the late Lottie Hughey.

She was married to the late Oscar Nathaniel Tolbert.  Louise was a long-time member of Weston Chapel AME Church in Greenwood where she served on the Stewardess Board.  She worked until retirement at One Hour Martinizing.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by a son, William Tolbert, Step-son, Timothy Morgan, Sr., grandson, James Albert Tolbert, Jr.,  two sisters, Carrie Jackson and Alberta Precha.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Wilbert (Jonell) Tolbert of Greenwood and James "Butch" (Louise) Tolbert, Sr. of Hodges; one sister, Alma Murphy of Philadelphia, PA, eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends that will mourn her passing. 

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Weston Chapel AME Church with Reverend Furman M. Miller officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Tolbert will be placed in the church at noon.  Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.  Flowerbearers will be the church missionaries.

The family is at the home of her son Mr. & Mrs. James Tolbert, 109 Daffodil Lane, Hodges.    Percival-Tompkins is assisting the Tolbert family.
