Mrs Ruby Ross


Mrs. Ruby Ross 63, of 2417 Ridge Road Hodges, SC wife of Reverend Guy Ross, Jr. died on March 4, 2016 in Lexington, SC. She was born in Greenwood February 11, 1952 to the late Johnnie Coleman, Sr. and Lillie Ree Norman .

She was a 1970 Graduate of Brewer High School and was a former member of Crossroad Baptist Church and member Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. She was a retired bus driver after 34 years of service with Greenwood School District 50.

She was 1st lady of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church and a member of Little River Ministers Wives, 100 Ladies in White, WHA Society, and spearheaded the New Mt. Zion Baptist Camp Sunshine Project.

She is survived by in addition to her husband of the home, three sons, Gerald Lee ( Victoria)Watts of Simpsonville, Mich Ross of North Augusta and Goliath (Betty) Ross of Greenwood three daughters, Linda Ross, Chansay Bolden (Darrell) and Ruby Williams all of Greenwood; ; five brothers, Johnny Coleman, Bobby (Valerie) Sanders, James A. Coleman, Reverend Charles Agnew all of Greenwood and Earl Sanders of Augusta, GA; two sisters, Louise Sanders (Henry) Chalmers of Greenwood and Renee Bovain (Curt) of New York, NY; 24 grandchildren five reared in home, Azende’ Ross, Isaiah Wardlaw, Sean –Jiya Wardlaw, Demarcus Parks and Chasitiy Moore; seven great grandchildren, a loving and devoted aunt, Mrs. Izola Quarles of Greenwood,a god- son Dee Thackson several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services for Mrs. Ross will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 12 Noon at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church with Bishop Emanuel Spearman officiating and burial will be in the Pine Grove AME church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 11:00 AM. Pallbearers and flower bearers will be friends of the family. Joe Louis Norman will be an honorary pallbearer.
