Mrs. Madelyn "Lynn" Moss

Mrs. Madelyn “ Lynn” Carroll Moss 66, wife of Willie R. Moss, Sr. passed January 8, 2016 at Self Regional Medical Center. She was born in the Kirksey Community of Greenwood County February 2, 1949. She was a daughter of the late Otis Harrison. She was reared in the home of her mother the late, , Versie Carroll Roundtree and stepfather the late Carroll Roundtree, Sr.

She was a lifelong member of Flint Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she served as member of the Choir, Missionary Society, Kitchen Committee and Usher Board. She formerly served in many capacities in church ministry to include, the Youth Ministry Advisor for many years. Lynn had a special bond with the youth during and after her leadership. Lynn’s heart and passion with the youth of Flint Hill and the emrire Union # 3 organization. Lynn also served as Pastor’s Aide, Sunday school and Bible Study Teacher.

Her other affiliations past and present were, Treasurer Union #3, Meals on Wheels, YMCA Line Dancers and Original member of Black Pearls Book Club.

She was a graduate of Brewer High School Class of 1968 and also served as former Chaplain.

Lynn retired in 2015 from Forestview Manor Assisted Living many would say this was her job but she always stated that she was getting up every morning going to her passion. A true missionary!! She was a very devoted Woman of God, not only did he talk and teach of the scriptures; she lived a life that reflected her teaching. Her family was her everything. Family was a must! Cruising, line dancing, just having a good clean good-time were her enjoyment. Lynn Love life!

She was a Caregiver of Ms. Jean Carroll.

Preceding her in death were siblings brothers, Carroll Roundtree, Jr., Glenn Harrison and a sister Deborah Harrison.

Surviving to cherish her memories are her husband Willie of the home, two sons, Willie Robert (Torritta) Moss, Jr. and Anthony Jermaine (Nicole) Moss of Greenwood; her daughter, Valerie Dansby (Charlie) of McCormick, SC; a sister( her traveling partner and best friend) Dorothy Moss Ninety-Six , SC; two brothers, Charles Roundtree of Greenwood, and Rev. Arthur ( Doris) Kemp of Bradley; three grandchildren, La’Kyndra Nicole Moss, Tomaro La’Courtney Cohen and Luarne Nelson; Lynn’s grandchildren were her HEART! She enjoyed cooking for her grands, hanging out with them and talking with them on the phone.

She also leaves to cherish her legacy five aunts: Mrs. Margie (Heyward )Higgins, Mrs. Alice Mae Carroll and Mrs. Mattie L. (Johnny ) Moss all of Greenwood, SC. Also, Mrs. Olivia Jefferson and Mrs. Maggie Beaman of Philadelphia, PA; two uncles, Reverend Willie (Sandra) Harrison and Mr. G. H. Harrison of Greenwood, SC. Lynn also has a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Home going services will be held 1PM Tuesday, January 12, 2015 at Flint Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. John R. Brightharp officiating assisted by Rev. Richard Pickering Presiding.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Moss will be placed in the church at Noon.

Pallbearers will be Nephews, Deacons and Trustees.

Flower bearers will be Missionaries and Nieces.

Honorary escort will Brewer School Class of 1968.
