Mrs. Shirley B. Williams

Mrs. Shirley Bryson Williams 79, of 308 Cokesbury Street , Greenwood widow of Milton K. Williams passed January 27, 2016 at Self Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Greenwood County October 29, 1936 a daughter of the late Benjamin Broadus Bryson and Rosa Lee Kemp Bryson.

She was a member of Mt Pisgah Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her health failed. She was involved in several ministries in the church to include former member of the Usher Board, Gospel Chorus and Senior Choir. She also was a former Sunday School Teacher and Deaconess. She served the community as a former Girl Scout Troop Leader at Morris Chapel Baptist Church.

She was a graduate of Brewer High School Class of 1955 and former Teachers Assistant at Pine Crest Elementary School.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory one son, Broadus Allando “ Al” Williams of the home, two daughters, Carla Williams Perrin and Karen Cowan (Edward) of Greenwood; two brothers, Henry Bryson( Ann) of Charlotte, NC and Calvin Bryson (Frankie) of Stone Mountain, GA ; one sister, Kay Frances Blocker of Greenwood; seven grandchildren, two reared in the home, Brittney Williams and Marquese Williams; Quatravious Williams, Datavious Williams, Davin Hughey, Santoriyah Cowan and Perez Cowan; two special godsons Preston Threatt of Orangeburg, SC and JC Threatt of Estill, SC ; a special son Dennis Perrin of Greenwood, SC, and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Homegoing services will be held 1PM Saturday, January 30, 2016 at The Prevailing Church with Apostle Jessie Simmons officiating assisted by Apostle Kevin Simmons , Pastor Otis Cunningham and Pastor Clara O. Barnes.

Burial will be in Evening Star Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Reginald Speach, Octavious Morgan, Jay Blocker, Reginald A. Speach, Keenon Glenn and Dekedre Fuller.

Flower bearers will be Eleasha Robinson, Naketah Robinson, Valerie Shepheard, Betty Newson, Vanessa Frazier, Kamela Simmons, and Kimberly Smith , other family and friends.

Mrs. Williams will be placed in the church at Noon.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6-7:30 pm
