Mrs Agnes Anderson Williams

Mrs. Agnes Elizabeth Anderson Williams, 90 of 2503 Dixie Drive, Hodges, widower of Lawrence Stevenson Williams passed September 21, 2015 at Self Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Greenwood County December 9, 1924 a daughter of John Fletcher Anderson and Sallie Jackson Anderson. She was retired form Reigel Mills and formerly employed with Nantex of Greenwood.

She was a former member of Mt Calvary Baptist Church until she married and moved her membership to Pine Grove AME Church where she presently held her membership.

She worked diligently in the church as the Steward/ Trustee and Treasurer for many years.  She was crowned Mother of the church on Mother’s Day of 2015 and was a member the Women’s Missionary Society.

She was a member of the Friendly Ten and Christmas Savings Club.

She was preceded in death by a son Harry S. Williams and a grandson Douglas  L.  Brown , Jr.

Surviving are one son, Grady A. Williams (Celia) of Greenwood, four daughters, Betty J. Williams of Brooklyn, NY, Clara E Richardson (Calvin) of Greenwood; Edna W. Brown of College Park, Georgia and Pearlene M. Williams of Lithonia, Georgia; one sister, Daisy L Williams of Hodges, SC; two sisters in law, Lola M. Anderson of Greenwood, SD  and Corrye  Nell Anderson of Hodges, SC;  8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 gg grandchild and a host of other nieces, nephews relatives and friends.

Services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Morris Chapel Baptist Church 530 Baptist Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646 with Pastor Gregory E. Singleton Pastor and Presiding  and Pastor Jerry Allen Aiken Officiating..

Mrs. Williams will be placed in the church at 10:00am.

Burial will be in Evening Star Cemetery 111 Memorial Drive, Greenwood, SC 29646

Wake Services will be held Friday from 6-8pm at Pine Grove AME Church 221 Piney Grove Church Road, Hodges, SC 29653 Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.percivaltompkinsfh.com.

 

 

The family is at the home.

In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Pine Grove AME Life Center PO Box 176, Hodges, SC 29653.
