Mrs. Bessie Mae Louden 92, of 115 Edgewood Circle widow of Willie Robert Louden, Sr. passed September 20, 2015 at Hospice Care of the Piedmont. She was the daughter of the late Devigor Williams, Sr. and Alice Davis Williams. She was retired from Self Memorial Hospital and formerly employed with Greenwood School District # 52.
She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where she served as former Head Usher, member of the Missionary Society, and the Willing Workers Club. She held the position of Church Clerk/Secretary for over 40 years. She was a member of various civic organizations to include the 96 Senior Center where she delivered meals on wheels, member of the Gardenia Flower Club and Edgewood Community Club. She also had a Cookbook published in her honor by Bethlehem Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Clayton “ Pee Wee” Louden , two brothers, and three sisters.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, William R. Louden, Jr. and Thomas Michael Louden of Ninety-Six, SC ; two daughters in law, Frances Louden and Yvonne W. Louden of Ninety-Six, SC; 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 gg grandchild; special friends Calvin Hill, Barbara Connelly and Jacob (Minnie) Connelly of Ninety-Six, SC and a host of other nieces nephews relatives and friends
Funeral services will be held 11: oo am Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. J.W . Price officiating assisted by Rev. James Louden III
Burial will be in 96 Community Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Nephews and Grandsons.
Flower bearers will be Nieces and Granddaughters.
Honorary escort will be Bethlehem Missionaries.
The body will be placed in the church at 10:00am.
The family is at the home of a son Thomas Michael Louden 2525 Louden Road, Ninety-Six, SC
