Thelma "Emma" Jennings

Ms. Thelma   Emma “ Baby Doll” Jennings  72, of 2525 Ridge Road, Hodges  wife of J.C. Jennings passed January 30, 2015 at her home. She was born in Greenwood County August 9. 1943 a daughter of the late John Smith and Mary Turner Smith.

She was a former member of Morris Chapel Baptist Church and later moved her membership to Second Damascus Baptist Church. She was a retired Head Cook for Greenwood Countr

y Club for 27 years.

 

She leaves to cherish her memory two loving and caring sisters, Annie Payne and Suzette Dale; two brothers, Jerry (Bertha) Smith and Raymond (Sara-Lee) Smith; three daughters, Barbara (Victor) Searles, Jennifer Williams, Sheryl  (James) Davis; two sons, Michael Carroll and Kenneth (Sabrina) Carroll; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She also reaerd several other children in her home she dearly loved, Margaret Ann Blackwell, Kenneth Davis, Keland Elmore, Sholanda Smith, Keila Davis, James Williams and Bradon Rollinson;  a special friend, Joseph Johnson ; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Homegoing services will be held  1PM Friday, February 6, 2105 at Cokesbury Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Belton officiating assisted by Revs. Amos Harling and Leroy Robertson and Marion Harling. .

 

Burial will be in Evening Star Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers will be grandson and great nephews.

 

Flower bearers will be granddaughters and great nieces.

 

Mrs Jennings will be placed in the church at noon.

 

The family is at the home.
