Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Harris Williams 81, of Trinity Mission Health and Rehab of Edgefield, SC widow of James Thomas Williams passed January 4, 2014 at her home. She was born in Greenwood County May 10, 1933 a daughter of the late Walter Evans and Annie Harris. She was a retired Cook for School District # 50. She was a member of Pine Grove AME Church where served on the Missionary Society. She was also a former Stewardess, Choir member, Trustee, Captain of the annual Trustee fundraiser and former Treasurer of the Sr. Citizens Christmas Club.
She leaves to cherish her memory one son, James Vernon Williams of Greenwood; two daughters, Barbara Wimmes ( Glenn) of Hodges, SC , Julia Wardlaw of Greenwood ; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren one aunt, Eugenia Evans of Hodges and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Pine Grove AME Church with Pastor Gregory Singleton Presiding and Rev. J.J. Robinson officiating assisted by Rev. Willie
Norman, Jr. and Rev. Lewis Burt
Burial will be in Evening Star Cemetery
Pallbearers will be Trustees.
Flower bearers will be the Missionary Society.
Honorary Escort will be Stewards
Mrs. Williams wil be placed in the church at noon.
