             Deacon Roscoe Cannon, Sr. 75 of 124 Cannon Road husband of Virginia Wilson Cannon passed away June 4, 2014 at his home. He was born in Laurens, SC on December 6, 1938, a son of Mary McGowans Cannon and the late Y. J. Cannon. He was a graduate of Brewer High School Class of 1958. He retired from the Greenwood Metropolitan Commisson after 31 years of service. He was a former member of St Vaughnville, Baptist Church where he served as Deacon. He was presently a member of Mt Moriah Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and member of the Brotherhood. He was a former member of the Promise Land All Male Chorus, Men on the Move and Past President of Cannon Drive Community Club.

He is survived by his wife of the home, his mother of Greenwood, four sons, Apostle Roscoe Cannon, Jr.(Prophetess Dorothy) of Duncan, SC; Ronny Cannon(Sheryl) of Columbus, GA ; Rev. Michael Cannon(Lisa)of Bennettsville, SC and Rev. Dr. Dexter Cannon ( Rev. Gina) of Richmond, VA; one daughter, Jacqueline Cannon of Greenwood; one brother, Rev. Clyde D. Cannon (Viola) of Greenwood; two sisters, Mrs.Hattie B. Morton(Joseph) and Mrs. Helen Talley both of Greenwood; 11 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Mt Moriah Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Adams officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The body will be placed in the church at 10:00am

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews

Flower bearers will be granddaughters and nieces.

Honorary escorts will be Deacons and Deaconess of Mt Moriah and St Vaughnville Baptist Churches

The family is at the home 124 Cannon Road. Percival Tompkins Funeral Home is honored to serve the Cannon Family.
