Mr. Willie Elmore, Sr. 97, of 108 Peachtree Street widower of Mamie Morgan Elmore entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at his home. He was born in Greenwood county July 29, 1923 a son of the late George Elmore and Daisy Rodgers Elmore. He was a retired Supervisor with the Sanitation Department of the City of Greenwood. He retired after 39 years of faithful service. He was a devoted member since childhood of John's Creek Baptist Church. He served as Deacon, former Superintendent of the Sunday School and former Sr. Choir member. He was also a member of the Progressive Masonic Lodge #403. She was a member of Trinity UMC where she was a former member of the Kitchen Committee and was a student at Piedmont Agency on Aging. She was born in Greenwood County April 23, 1940 a daughter of the late John Virgil McBride and Leona Well McBride. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church where she was a member of The Willing Workers and Missionary Society. She was a member of Brewer Class of 1958 and Retired from Self Regional Medical Center in January of 1999 She was preceded in death by her siblings, Jennie V. Duncan, Pearl Smith, Sadie R. Shirley Ann Cunningham, 73, of 110 Elm Court, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Howard Simpson and Ruth Wright Hudson and was reared in the home of her late aunt, Fannie Mae Watts. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
