The celebration of life for Ms. Lucille " C I " Tompkins a loving mother and grandmother gained her wings on February 22, 2020 at her home 514 Marion Street in Greenwood SC. Lucille was born March 27, 1919 to the late John Mitchell and Katie Gary Mitchell. She later married Theodore Roosevelt " TR" Tompkins . To that union two children were born Leroy Tompkins who preceded her in death and one daughter Annette Susewell of the home. She was the last survivor of her siblings. she was reared in Greenwood SC where she joined Macedonia Baptist Church. She late joined United House of Prayer where she was a Missionary and Secretary. Jailyn DuMari Morton 24, of 3517 Ridge Road, Hodges entered into his heavenly home on Sunday, February 9, 2020. He was born in Greenwood county March 26, 1995 a son of Katrina Smith and Jonathan Morton, Sr. He was an honorary graduate of Greenwood High School Class of 2013. He spread his love through cooking and was such a sweet, kind and caring person. He would light up the room with his warm smile and amazing personality. Mrs. Carrie H. Smith 87, formerly of 225 A Brooks Stuart Drive widow of James Alex Smith died February 7, 2020 at 101 Third Day Street, Piedmont, SC. She was born in Abbeville, SC November 22, 1932 a daughter of the late Joel Haskell and Sallie Brown Haskell. She was a former member of Rock Buffalo Baptist Church located in Abbeville, SC until she married and moved to Greenwood and joined Beulah Baptist Church.
