Alice Cornelia Cannon Phillips was commissioned to come to earth on Tuesday, May 2, 1948, to much delight of her parents, Rufus Cannon, Sr. and Cornelius Deal Cannon. Alice, along with her three eldest siblings, Rufus, Effie and Doris enjoyed the humility and hard work that came with being reared on a farm in the Whitehall Community. Her dedication and strength was recognized even in her early childhood when she would walk three miles a day to a one-room school house in Whitehall to receive her primary education. Mrs. Minnie H. Robinson Arnold 89, of 116 Enterprise Court wife of Joseph Arnold passed March 24, 2014 at Hospice Care of the Piedmont. She was born in the Cokesbury Community August 16, 1924 a daughter of Wilson Holmes and Louella Foggie Holmes. She was twice married first to the late James A. Robinson and presently to Joseph S. Arnold of the home. She was a member of St Paul AME Church. Ms. Roshanda Williams 35, of Greenville, SC passed March 3, 2014 at her home. She was born in Greenwood County July 23,1978 a daughter of Edward Hackett and Janie Williams.
